Mrs. Reilly's 6th Grade Science Class

I am sure this year will be exciting for all of you. You will be learning many new and interesting concepts. Your adventure in science will take you back to what Earth looked like 245 million years ago as well as taking a journey to the center of the Earth and back to explore why Earth continues to change today.
When your exploration of Earth is completed, you will begin an investigation of the Earth's ecosystems and how organisms interact and learn how to survive within an ecosystem.
During the months of September, October, November and December we will discuss the scientific method, living things and their environment, types of energy and living things and changes in ecosystems over time.
January through June we will create topographic maps, describe the layers of the Earth, learn how the surface of the earth moves, how it is built up or torn down. Lastly, we will understand how heat is transferred in the Earth's system.
